خلاصه مقاله: Introduction and Objectives: Fecal disposal of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been reported in some studies. So, identification the presence of them in hospital wastewater plant is vital to maintain public health. In urban areas, hospital wastewater is the most challenging environmental problem due to emission of microbial and viral pollutants after treatment. In view of microbial and viral resistance, the monitoring of microbial contamination is very important but is considered as a very asymmetric issue in international level. In global scale, water monitoring and protection programs including microbial and viral measurement is necessary, particularly in hospital wastewater. The main goal of this study is to investigate the presence, identification, and count of microbial and COVID-19 in hospital wastewater treatment plant in city of Tehran. Materials and Methods: In this analytical study, purpose sampling (sampling special) was used. 18 samples were taken from influent and effluent of 1 hospital wastewater treatment plant (36 samples) in Tehran city, from February to May 2021. The samples were collected in sterile bottle according to procedure detailed in national standard methods. We measured the total coliform, Echerchia coli, heterotrophic plate count, and COVID-19 by using standard total coliform membrane filter procedure (9222 B and D), pour plate method (9215 B methods), and real-time polymerase chain reaction methods. We measured the physicochemical parameters such as pH, temperature, and total suspended solids according to procedures detailed in standard methods for the examination of water and wastewater. The relationship between the variables was defined by using chi-square test, Pearson correlation and ANOVA methods. Results: The coliform, Echerchia coli, heterotrophic plate count, and COVID-19 range of 9 influent samples in February are 2.5-2.9×105 (2.6×105±22.2), 1.5-1.9×105 (1.5×105±18.8), 3.5-3.9×105 (3.6×105±33.4) /ml, and 5 from 9 samples, respectively. The coliform, Echerchia coli, heterotrophic plate count, and COVID-19 range of 9 effluent samples in February are 500-900 (600±9.2), 300-550 (350±6.9), 3500-3900 (3600±18.2) /100ml, and 4 from 9 samples, respectively. The coliform, Echerchia coli, heterotrophic plate count, and COVID-19 range of 9 influent samples in May are 4.5-4.9×105 (4.6×105±32.2), 3.5-3.9×105 (3.5×105±38.2), 5.5-5.9×105 (5.6×105±39.5) /100ml, and 8 from 9 samples, respectively.
