Barry is a Human Factors practitioner and has over 20 years’ experience in the Defence domain. He specialises in Human Factors-focussed  research and development in: military ethos, culture and values; submarine HCI design; fast jet and helicopter cockpit design; military training domain, including live synthetic training blends, distributed training and simulations and its impacts on stability. His experience includes leading a broad range of research programmes including cyber, training and evidence-based decision making.  Barry is a council member for the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors and member of the steering group for the Industry/MOD HFI liaison group.  He is host of the podcast: “1202 - The Human Factors podcast”, as well as guest co-host on .“Human Factors Cast”
