Conference introduction
Nowadays, the role and position of occupational health as a useful tool in maintaining human resources in various fields of production, industry and services through adherence to the highest standards of the occupational health and safety is clear to everyone. Considering the position and role of occupational health in productivity and sustainable development of the country and the importance of using systemic approaches in advancing pre-determined objectives and strategies, the implementation of occupational health and safety management systems is inevitable to continuously improve activities in manufacturing, industry and services. The pervasive acceleration in industrialization and the need to access powerful and potentially hazardous energy sources, new technologies (e.g. nanotechnology), etc. have introduced complex rules in the system of providing occupational safety and health services to ensure the health and safety of the workforce, which is not applicable except by applying an occupational health and safety management system. The main process in this system is to identify the risks and factors threatening health and control these factors to eliminate the possibility of employees facing unfavorable working conditions. The most important agents in relation to health and safety in the workplace include chemical, physical, safety, and ergonomic factors.
It is not possible to prevent and manage the harmful factors without applying the scientific and practical efforts of educated and experienced experts and specialists in the field of occupational health to maintain and improve the physical and psychological health of employees in different work environments. COVID-19 disease has changed the nature of tasks in many occupations since its inception and is considered a serious challenge for occupational health professionals, and hence the need for special attention to this issue is strongly felt. Undoubtedly, holding scientific conferences is one of the best platforms to improve the knowledge and skills of students, graduates and professionals. Therefore, "the 12th National Conference on Occupational Health and Safety" will be held on 26-28 July 1401 in order to exchange the latest scientific-research findings and provide an interdisciplinary platform to display innovations and practical experiences in all areas of occupational health and safety with a focus on "Challenges, opportunities and experiences" of occupational health and safety.
With God's help, "the 12th National Conference on Occupational Health and Safety" will be virtually held with the cooperation and participation of the Hamadan University of Medical Sciences and the Iranian Occupational Health Scientific Association. We hope that this conference will be welcomed by health and safety experts. In this conference, we will do our best to provide an efficient space for presenting scientific and executive programs and to provide the necessary scientific discussions to address the existing scientific challenges in the field of occupational health; as an effort for improving the objectives of occupational health sciences across the country and to have a healthier and more productive working community.
