Background and Aim

COVID-19 is coated single-stranded RNA beta-corona viruse that was reported in China in late 2019 and then became a global pandemic. According to WHO reports, the course of the disease is divided into the following stages: asymptomatic stage, early stage of infection (mild) in the form of fever less than 38 degrees, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and 93% oxygen level, stage two ( Respiratory phase) into 2 groups: moderate (between 90-93%) and severe (less than 90%) and increased lung involvement by more than 50%. The third stage (inflammation exacerbation phase) that requires special care and the oxygen level is 88%.Hyperinflammation is associated with the severity of COVID-19, which is characterized by cytokine release syndrome (CRS). Some inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6, IL-10, chemokines, as well as ip-10, cxcl-10 increases in covid-19 patients. Chemokine cxcl-10 is a cytokine belonging to the c-x-c chemokine family. Changes in cxcl-10 expression are associated with inflammatory diseases such as infectious disease, immune dysfunction, and tumorigenesis. SNP in the ip-10 promoter can regulate ip-10 expression by altering its binding affinity and thus affect disease progression.in this study correlation between single nucleotide polymorphism of rs74810361 and severity of symptoms in covid-19 disease has been studied.

Methods

Genomic DNA of 50 covid-19 patients in babol city were extracted and polymorphism C1596T (rs74810361) were genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment polymorphism(PCR-RFLP). The accuracy of genotyping data for the SNP obtained from PCR/restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis was validated by direct sequencing of random sample of patients.

Results

the results indicated that there was no significant accompany between rs74810361 polymorphism and the corona virus disease.

Conclusion

Therefore, treatment and prevention of the progression of this pandemic disease is one of the most important goals of disease control in the world. This study can examine one of the risk factors that is the genetic background of individuals as a background for predicting viral responses and personal medecine and thus controlling the mortality rate from infection with this virus.
